Churchwide Updates: September Update from the Pulpit Nominating Committee
| Churchwide Updates | Amy Hirsch
To the Congregation:
You have not heard from our committee during the month of August; we have been busily working since the completion of our second Congregational Conversation meeting in late July.
After meeting with our fellow members in-person and through a Zoom session, we compiled the results of those characteristics and desired traits of our next Senior Pastor and began the final work of incorporating those expectations into the final document describing our congregation. That document is critical in the search process as it is a tremendous help in describing our congregation–painting a realistic picture of who we are–to any potential candidate so they will understand as much as possible prior to any interviews. That document was linked to our website for those interested candidates to review to learn more about our church. With our consultant’s help (Bill Wilson from the Center for Healthy Churches), we are reviewing potential candidates and structuring “get to know you” interviews followed by lengthy in-depth interviews with those who pass the first step. As you know, we are conducting a full search and that includes external as well as internal candidates.
We have multiple dates blocked out on our collective calendars during September and October to complete those interviews. We will report back in October on our progress; please pray for our committee, this process, and the next Senior Pastor, and that God’s will continues to be the focus for us all.
