Churchwide Updates: The Second Half

 |  Churchwide Updates  |  Dr. Wayne Splawn

Every sports fan recognizes the importance of the second half. In a recent football game, my favorite college team was leading by a large margin at halftime, only to see the lead evaporate in the second half. Ultimately, teams are not judged by the numbers on the scoreboard at halftime. What matters is what the scoreboard reads when the clock strikes zero.

Our stewardship campaign for the 2026 Ministry Plan has gotten off to a wonderful start. You may remember that our goal is for 250 families to submit a commitment card in support of our 2026 Ministry Plan of $4,096,274, and for 50 new families to make an offering to our budget this year. Let’s look at the scoreboard to see where we are to date:

Commitment Cards: 117

New Families Who Have Given: 38

Total Amount Committed to the 2026 Ministry Plan: $1,836,908

As you can see, we have reason to be encouraged by the response at this point, but we still have some work to do to finish strong. If you haven’t yet completed a commitment card, I encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience. You can make your commitment by returning the card you received in the mail to the church office or completing a card online at https://mbbc.org/give/growing. If you have never given an offering to support the mission and ministries of our church, do so in person this Sunday or online today.

Thank you to everyone who has made a commitment to the 2026 Ministry Plan. Your support means so much as we prepare to embark on another exciting year of mission and ministry. Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any questions regarding our 2026 Ministry Plan, commitment cards, or stewardship.

Yours in Christ,
