Exodus 4:11

Everyone is aware of his or her limitations. Part of the maturation process involves facing the painful truth that we are not capable of doing everything our heart desires. Coming to terms with such a discovery means learning not to put ourselves in places or situations where our weaknesses get exposed.

But at the same time we’re working to protect our fragile egos from the shame of owning up to our limitations, God is most often at work in those very places to call us to lean upon Him so that His strength might be perfected in our weakness.

That’s the point of the story of Moses in the book of Exodus. Moses was God’s choice to lead the people out of their bondage in Egypt and onward to Canaan, the Promised Land. But while God saw possibility in Moses, Moses saw only limitation and weakness in himself. It was only when God challenged Moses to trust his deficiencies to his Creator did Moses come to discover strength he would never have known otherwise.

God has something for each of us to do. Many times we can think of a thousand different reasons why God should pick someone else for that task. But God has chosen and called us.  So, how do we come to the place where we discover how His grace is sufficient for our every need? That’s the theme of our worship this Sunday. So, join us as we come together to magnify God in our time together in worship in order that we might go out to do the same in living in the strength He provides and trusting in His ability to work through us to accomplish what He has for us to do.
