The first of our semi-annual Church Conferences will be held this Wednesday, January 30, at 6 p.m. in Heritage Hall. Along with key committee and ministry team reports, the church will receive two important recommendations for congregational action. First, our Building Committee will present its final recommendation on proposed changes to our church facilities. This recommendation stems from the part of our Vision 2020 Strategic Plan report that seeks to “make ministry possible.” It reflects the culmination of the various congregational and staff and lay leadership conversations that have taken place over the last six months and addresses comments, observations, and suggestions made during those conversations. Secondly, the Personnel Committee will also bring a recommendation pertaining to the credentialing of our church’s ministerial staff. The recommendation will address the ordination of Ben Winder and the licensing of Joel Burks, Amy Hirsch, Sharon Howard, Mary Splawn, and Tim Sanderlin. Your presence and participation are crucial as the church takes up these and other significant matters.
