Pastor's Blog: "Don't Miss This Opportunity!"
| | Dr. Wayne Splawn
From time to time, we have an opportunity to be a part of significant seasons in the life of Mountain Brook Baptist Church. From the group of founding members who had the vision to purchase the plot of land that would become our church campus, to the group that initiated the construction of our Chapel, to the sacrifices made by church members who would construct our Sanctuary, there have been important periods of time in which the membership of Mountain Brook Baptist Church have given sacrificially to provide a space to meet for worship, fellowship, and discipleship. I, for one, am grateful for each person who gave a financial gift to support such projects over the years. In the eyes of the world, some of these contributions were large and others were small and seemingly insignificant. But I am convinced the Lord sees things differently. He looks at the condition of our hearts and how we are stewarding that he has entrusted to us.
I believe we are on the cusp of a historic time in the life of Mountain Brook Baptist Church. We have a chance to be a part of a campus-wide construction project that we believe will position us to continue the years of ministry and mission that God has been pleased to accomplish in and through our church over the years. This project is about more than renewing a physical building. Instead, it is our opportunity to build on the years of faithful ministry that have happened in the past as we look forward to all the Lord would have us experience in the future. If you have not yet made a pledge, I encourage you to be a part of this season by making a financial pledge to the Renewal Capital Campaign today. If you have made a pledge and are able to increase it, even slightly, that would be helpful. We are just over 87% of the way to our goal and to finish the task of pledging the remaining 13%, we need every member to participate. The size of the gift does not matter. Chances are that years from now future generations will not remember our individual names or the sizes of the gifts we gave toward this project. But I believe they will praise God for his work in and through us in these days.

If you have not yet made a pledge, pray about how the Lord would have you to participate in this important project in the life of our church and make a pledge, email it to Debbie Hix, or complete the online form by clicking here. It would be very helpful if all pledges are turned in this week so that our Building Committee will have clear direction regarding the scope of the overall project.
