Pastor's Blog: "A Wonderful Time to Reach Out and Reconnect"

Holy Week begins this Sunday, April 10 and concludes on Easter Sunday, April 17. This special weeklong celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the highpoint of the Christian calendar. As we think about the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are reminded of the saving acts God has accomplished for us. Through his death on the cross, Jesus atoned for our sins, and when God raised him from the dead, Jesus overcame the grave. This is indeed good news we should readily share with the people God has placed in our lives.

I cannot think of a better time for each of us to invite others to participate in the meaningful worship opportunities that will take place at our church in the coming week. Because of the disruptions to normal patterns of life we have all experienced throughout the pandemic, many people have lost touch with their local communities of faith. Our Holy Week services provide you a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with someone you have not seen at church in a while and invite them to join you in worship. In addition to people from our own church family, I also challenge you to reach out to a neighbor, co-worker, or someone else in your sphere of influence to let them know that you would love for them to join us during this most important season of the year. It may be that God will use your invitation to help someone to connect with the life of our church or, more importantly, to experience the eternal and abundant life God would have them to know through faith in Jesus Christ.
