Meet Our New Members: Hannah and Haynes Horsley

Have you met Hannah and Haynes Horsley? They joined our church on June 7, 2026. We hope you'll get to know them a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with them one Sunday in worship.
Tell us about your family. We have been married a little over a year and are excited to be welcoming our first child, a daughter, Lucy, later this year! Our family also includes our dogs, Archie and Sadie. We love spending time with our families and being outdoors, and we are grateful to be putting down roots in Birmingham.
Where did you work? Haynes works in commercial real estate, and Hannah is a speech-language pathologist who recently started her own private practice, H3 Speech, serving children and families in the Birmingham area.
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? We were looking for a church where we could grow in our faith, build meaningful relationships, and become part of a Christ-centered community. From the first time we visited, we felt genuinely welcomed and knew Mountain Brook Baptist Church was a place where we wanted to plant roots as we began this new season of growing our family.
What is your favorite Bible verse? One verse that has always resonated with us is Psalm 90:17: “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands.” As we’ve navigated marriage, careers, and now preparing to become parents, it’s been a meaningful reminder that we want our lives and work to be grounded in God’s purpose and guided by his hand.
What are some of your hobbies and interests? We love spending time outdoors, walking our dogs, Archie and Sadie, tackling home renovation projects together, and cooking new recipes. You’ll also find us enjoying family and friend game nights, traveling whenever we can, and making the most of time with the people we love.
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you? A fun fact is that we’ve actually known each other since we were kids and started “dating” in sixth grade. While there were plenty of years between then and getting married, we like to joke that our love story has been in the making for a very long time.
