Have you met John Simpson? John recently joined our church on Sunday, July 23. We hope you'll get to know him a little better through this latest "Meet Our New Member" blog, and that you'll have the chance to connect with him one Sunday in worship.
Tell us about your family. I have a wife, Collier Simpson, and an 8-month old daughter, Anna Price Simpson. We are both from Birmingham and currently live in Cahaba Heights.
Where do you work or go to school? If you are in grade school, tell us what grade! I work for Regions Bank. I went to the University of Alabama for undergrad then to UAB for graduate school.
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church? My wife and her family have been members and attending MBBC for many years!
What is your favorite Bible story or verse, and/or your favorite hymn or praise song? John 14:6-9
What are some of your hobbies and interests? With an 8-month old, my hobbies largely involve spending time with my daughter and wife. My wife and I enjoy hiking, playing with our dogs, trying new restaurants, and seeing live music.
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you? My first job out of college was working as a general assignment reporter for a newspaper in Southwest Georgia. I covered a wide array of topics, from sports to city council meetings and everything in between.
