Foundation Moments: Our Four Funds
| Foundation Moments | Baker Crow
The importance of determining the purpose of your gift to the Foundation was addressed in last month’s article. As a reminder, if you do not choose a purpose, the Board of the Foundation will determine how to allocate your gift.
The by-laws of the Foundation provide for four funds: Missions Fund, Facilities Fund, Compassion Fund, and General Fund. The purpose of your gift must fit within the definition of these funds. You may choose to allocate your gift among one or more of these funds. You may also establish your own fund under the umbrella of these funds if your gift exceeds a predetermined minimum amount established by the Board.
The purposes of each of these funds are defined as follows:
- The Missions Fund shall be used to support the active involvement of members or mission teams of Mountain Brook Baptist Church in missions activities and events.
- The Facilities Fund shall be used to help pay for major facility maintenance, repairs, and capital projects which are not covered in the church’s annual ministry plan.
- The Compassion Fund shall be used to meet the needs of people who have limited financial resources such as shelter, food, clothing, medical care, medicine, transportation assistance, and other similar needs.
- The General Fund shall be used to enhance and improve the programs and ministries of Mountain Brook Baptist Church and for special church events and activities.
