Churchwide Updates: Welcome, Wendy, to Our Ministerial Staff!

We have experienced growth in our Children’s Ministry in recent years. You’ve no doubt witnessed this growth in the large groups of children who make their way to the front of the Sanctuary for children’s sermons, the bustling activity in the halls during Wednesday night activities, and the many parent and child dedications we have had in recent months. This participation is one indication of the health of our church.
I want to ensure we have adequate ministerial staff support to offer our children and families excellent ministry programming during this pivotal season of life. That is why I am excited to announce that Wendy Calvert is joining our staff as our new Associate Children’s Minister. Wendy is likely no stranger to you if you have been a part of Mountain Brook Baptist Church in recent years. Wendy currently leads chapel services for our Early Learning Center as well as our Children’s Worship experience on Sunday mornings. In her new full-time ministerial role, Wendy will be able to use her years of ministry experience and knowledge of our church family and community to help us provide an even more robust Children’s Ministry.
I want to thank our Personnel Committee and Finance Committee for making this important investment in our ministerial staff. This is another sign of our church’s commitment to make ministry possible as we continue to pursue God’s good future for our congregation. Wendy will begin her duties on June 1. Please join me in welcoming Wendy to our ministerial church staff and ensure her of your continued support in the days ahead.
