Meet Our New Members: The Hodges Family

In this season when we are not all able to meet together in person, we want to help you get to know our newest church members. Today, meet Jenelle and Chris Hodges and their daughters Lyndsey and Catelyn. Chris and Jenelle joined by transfer of letter on October 18, 2020. Their oldest daughter Lyndsey joined that day by profession of faith and was baptized on November 15, 2020.
Tell us about your family.
We have two daughters, Lyndsey who is seven years old, and Catelyn who is five years old. We moved to the Mountain Brook area about a year and a half ago. We have a dog, Kayce, and a cat, Lucy.
Where do you work or go to school?
Chris works for Brasfield and Gorrie as a Senior Project Manager. I (Jenelle) work for College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) as the Director of Digital Learning. Lyndsey attends Brookwood Forest and Catelyn attends Mitchell's Place.
What led you to Mountain Brook Baptist Church?
Lyndsey was invited by a sweet girl on her soccer team. Once we attended we felt welcomed and found our place.
What is your favorite Bible story or verse, and/or your favorite hymn or praise song?
Oh wow! We each have our own I guess...we love to sing hymns and praise songs together. I guess a verse that I (Jenelle) have always found strength in is Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
We love to camp and travel together as a family. We enjoy cooking together and trying new things. The girls are in dance, gymnastics, soccer, Girl Scouts, and piano.
What is a fun fact other people may not know about you?
Oh I don't know...I guess something would be that I (Jenelle) love to quilt. I don't get to do it much anymore due to time but I love to scrap quilt when I get the chance.
